The Little Hamper Company is a Young Enterprise company established in 2011, made up of five Newcastle University students. The object of the Young Enterprise is for groups of students to form their own company as a part of their degree program and gain management experience by running their own firm over the course of a year.
Our company aims to raise the awareness of Northumberland produce and small businesses. We aim to procure the very best that Northumberland can produce and sell it on to customers that are outside the normal market of the firms. This aids all three parties. We gain experience in running a business. The producers get to sell more of their products and the customers get a chance to see just how good produce from Northumberland is.
All of our local hampers are sourced from the local producers and are often from small family run firms. All of this helps to build ties between local people and the students of the area and this cannot be a bad thing!
We also make our own hampers for special occasions. For example, we have Christmas and Valentines hampers. We are also in the process of creating a 'Student Survival Hamper' which will be an essential survival kit for all new students.
All of our products from the local producers are sold at the same price on this site as can be bought at the shops themselves. This will also allow you, the customer to gain top quality products for a good price.
